Qualified applicants will have experience and knowledge in Urban Forestry and Public Works journeyman.
The applicant will be able to read blueprints and install landscaping systems.
These systems will include installing irrigation systems, planting trees and shrubs, and installing sprinkler timers and irrigation valves.
Installation of Decomposed Granite pathways will also be a part of the work required.
Knowledge of Public Works is desired.
SCOPE OF WORK: This position is responsible for leading corps members to foster and encourage the development of good work habits, including timeliness, punctuality, neatness, and ethics while on worksites.
The incumbent of this position will teach corps members technical skills that can be used in obtaining employment while ensuring projects are completed within timelines and meet industry standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: assist in coaching, motivating, directing, and coordinating a crew of young adults in a rigorous work program Encourage discipline by modeling Corp procedures and adherence to program goals and objectives Creates positive crew morale and builds teamwork by working alongside corpsmembers and setting the work Works closely with SCC staff to ensure Corpsmembers goals are being Accurate documentation of crew member participation, attendance, and work Follows project plans and schedules and leads the crew's daily and weekly Ensures the work done meets industry standards for quality and crew productivity to ensure quality Ensures safe work practices and proper use of tools and Leads crew's in how and when the work will be performed, including prep work that must be completed before the project EnsuressafetyatassignedworksiteandthesafetyofallCorpsmembersbyadheringtoCSETandState Safety Lead projects and keep supervisor updated on Documents and report to supervisor any accidents, delays affecting schedule, and unforeseen conditions.

Ability to read landscaping plans.
