The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing employee shifts.
The Shift Supervisor will establish a daily Game Plan, assign Staff Duties/Tasks, supervise on-duty employees for customer service, store details, and completion of assigned duties/task to established Company standards.
The primary function of this position is to provide direction for store operations as established by the Store Manager, maintain, and enforce established company policies, procedures, and standards.
This position reports to the Store Manager and Lead Supervisor.
The Shift Supervisor will be assigned additional job duties or areas of responsibility per the Store Manager’s direction.
The Shift Supervisor must be able to recognize and resolve conflicts of any kind and protect the assets of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities Maintain established store operations with the direction of the Store Manager and/or Lead Supervisor.
Protect all company assets.
Teach, train, and guide employees within the established guidelines.
Interact with management to expand gross profit opportunities.
Process employee evaluations for those employees that report to a specific Shift Supervisor.
Ability to process vendor invoices, SSCS, EOD the daily deposit function(s) as required by store management.
Understand and be actively involved in inventory control processes.
Process customer transactions through point-of-sale equipment.
Establish and maintain excellent vendor relations with current and new vendors.
This position supervises store clerks within established guidelines.
Maintain excellent relations with store guests.
Position includes stocking the store as needed to maintain in-stock levels.
Ability to monitor and utilize the Veeder Root fuel reporting system.
Must receive EPA UST Class B License within 60 Days of Hire.
Must Maintain current Safety or Employee Training Programs as assigned.
Must monitor Profit Margins on a daily basis and report unusual findings to Manager or Lead Supervisor.
Must be available to work all shifts.
Help enforce and maintain company Policies and Procedures.
Cover breaks and shifts as needed at all entities located within Eagle Feather Trading Post.
Must be able to resolve conflicts that arise within the store staff, including customers, while maintaining a professional demeaner.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED 1 year’s prior retail experience in a high traffic convenience store and or fueling station environment preferred.
Management experience highly preferred.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Computer literate including Microsoft programs, point of sale systems and handheld scanner use.
Show proficiency in communication, planning and organizing, initiative, judgment, delegation, and leadership.
Ability to manage and maintain confidential information.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
Must hold California Driver License and insurable through TREDC.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must write clearly and concisely using correct grammar to record and report information.
Ability to determine store needs and devise a written strategy to achieve completion of plan.
Ability to recognize talented staff members and train them for advancement within the company.
Must be detail oriented.
Competent in math.
Must add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and correctly.
Ability to count change back to customers.
Able to communicate with people of various social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.
Ability to lead and influence others in a positive manner.
Ability to oversee and maintain confidential information.
Excellent verbal and listening skills.
Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds frequently.
The employee is required to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time, as well as bending, reaching, twisting, turning, stoop, and kneel.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far-sighted vision.
Ability to occasionally climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials, and/or place or remove signs.
Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands up.
(This work requires eye-hand coordination and may require bilateral coordination of hands).
