*TITLE:* Food Service Director *FLSA STATUS*: Non Exempt *PERFORMANCE PROFILE SOURCE: *Professional *DEPARTMENT: *Programs *REPORTS TO: * Director of Operations *PRIMARY FUNCTION: *Administers the CACFP and SFSP foodservice program in a multiple-site program according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements.
Supervises and trains foodservice personnel.
Develops and maintains high standards of food preparation and service with emphasis on menu appeal and nutritional value.
Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety.
Maintains records of income and expenditures, food, supplies, personnel and equipment.
Facilitates cooperation with BGCS staff, members, education partners such as administrators and teachers.
*JOB RESPONSIBILITES:* · Plans and analyzes menus for all Clubs to ensure that USDA Meal Pattern and nutritional requirements are met.
· Maintains a purchasing system consistent with USDA and state purchasing guidelines.
· Enforces federal and state regulations regarding nutritional standards, reports and records.
Prepares and maintains all records for required audits and reviews.
· Oversees the administration of the summer free lunch program according to federal and state regulations.
· Prepares, monitors and administers the food service budget.
Monitors and analyzes all revenue sources.
· Assesses member preference, industry trends and current research to develop a long range plan that facilitates continuous program improvement.
· Maintains an efficient food service operation and a high quality food service staff by training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating all food service personnel.
· Coordinates all equipment maintenance and building repairs with the Facilities Manager.
· Ensure that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained.
· Develops and implements a catering plan that is consistent with BGCS policies.
* Maintain a legal California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and provide verification of such.
* Provide snack and lunch on Club field trips.
*ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* · Other duties as directed by the Director of Operations.
*RELATIONSHIPS:* · Maintain daily contact with Club administrative staff to exchange information and seek assistance, consultation and direction.
Maintain verbal and written contact with staff and volunteers.
*SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFFERED:* • AS/AA degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of two years successful experience as a supervisor or manager in an institutional food service or comparable setting.
• Current food protection management certification.
• Demonstrated ability to work as an affective team leader.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reports.
• Skill in motivating and supervising foodservice personnel.
• Knowledge of foodservice program requirements.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to interpret a nutrient analysis spreadsheet.
• Ability to maintain records and complete reports, including web-based reporting.
• Considerable knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.
• Understanding of food service program finances.
*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:* _Finger Dexterity:_Able to operate kitchen equipment.

_Repetitive Motions_*: *Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

*PHYSICAL STRENGTH: *Active work; standing, stooping, bendingand reaching overhead.

00 per hour JOB LOCATION: Food Office at Exeter Boys & Girls Club, Exeter, CA HOURS: 25 hours per week, approx.
