This recruitment will establish an employment list to fill current and any future vacancies within the Information & Communications Technology Department located in Visalia.
The anticipated life of the employment list is six months.

Current vacancy is with the Tulare County Information & Communications Technology Department (TCICT).
Typical Duties Assist in planning and implementing of the overall strategic goals of Tulare County’s Enterprise Network system.
Carry out network tasks assigned and perform scheduled maintenance on the network.
Assume the role of network monitoring using monitoring tools.
Perform trouble shooting.
Perform observational tasks and make recommendations for and conduct proactive maintenance.
Provide on-going support of the network that ensures the client’s business cycles will not be impacted during upgrades or maintenance.
Perform weekly and monthly network administration tasks relative to network accessibility and availability.
Perform network hardware installations, modifications, monitoring, and diagnostics as well as problem resolution, design, implementation, and administration of the VoIP network.

) Employment Standards Education: Completion of two (2) years of college course work in computer science, information technology or related field.
Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience as an Enterprise Network Administrator OR six (6) years of experience in network administration, network design, and construction of LAN, MAN, WAN, and two (2) years of VoIP.
Knowledge of: Clear understanding and direct familiarity with TCP/IP Networking and its elements.
Operation and administration of VPN, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points and controllers, network sensors, network-based security with IP cameras and door controllers.
Maintain currency of knowledge about current security incidents, threats, and available tools for network security, network QOS, and network administration of a primarily Cisco Enterprise Network environment.
Possess familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the network operations field.
Microsoft AD and OS, Linux, VMWare NSX.
More experience in troubleshooting and network design and implementation.
Provides training and guidance to Level I & II classifications.
Skill/Ability to: Perform complex resolution of problems often in real time.
More experience in troubleshooting and network design and implementation.
Train and supervise a team of Network Administrator I/II, Network Technician I\II, and Data Center Administrators.
Create and maintain complex scripts for current and future Call Center applications, familiar with all common communications and network transport protocols such as those used for Voice, Video, network management, wireless controls, and network QOS.
Understand the concept of a NOC and have experience with Network Management protocols and utilities.
Experience with network sniffer and analysis tools.
Make recommendations to improve and protect the security of the client’s information, networks, and systems.
Ability to manage multiple projects and daily workload at the same time.
Delegate workload balance to team members.
Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
DESIRABLE EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Completion of any of the following certification programs: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Cisco Certified Internet Engineer (CCIE).
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
License/Certificates: Possession of, or the ability to obtain an appropriate, valid California driver's license.
Additional Information Conditions of Employment: Candidates selected will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Additionally, a background investigation may also be conducted, which may include a re-investigation every 10 years for some positions.

FLSA exempt employees accrue an additional 5 days of vacation per year.

Long Term Disability Insurance: A Long Term Disability plan is provided.
This provides financial protection for you by paying a portion of your income while you are disabled.

The premium is paid by the employee.
Deferred Compensation: A voluntary deferred compensation plan is available.
