Senior Maintenance Specialist
WAGE: $36 - $40 per hour
Position Description:
Position is responsible for providing both technical and mechanical support of LOL’s network of butter packaging equipment across multiple facilities throughout the country.
The incumbent will be required to become a subject matter expert specializing on Benhil butter printers and will be expected to be a primary resource for all butter facilities on the asset care, maintenance, and operation of this equipment.
The faculties will rely on their leadership and support for technical troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
Performing root cause analysis of equipment failure; delivery maintenance technician training; execution of major rebuilds; assist with repairs during catastrophic failures; and help enhance and improve asset care maintenance programs.
Additionally, their specialized skill set will be leveraged to assist with the refinement of SOPs pertaining to proper machine operation and adjustments, performance of technical maintenance procedures, equipment innovation enhancements and upgrades, equipment performance assessments, support of R&D trials.
This role will also partner with plants on budget recommendations for replacement parts, vendor support, and expansions.
The geographical location of the butter facilities and the year-round continuous operations that is required of this equipment may require the incumbent to be able to travel and provide support on weekends and holidays if required.
10% - Lead technical troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical and control systems for network butter printers.
Lead root cause analysis of equipment failures, research and recommend solutions to prevent recurring failures.
Continually improve and enhance preventive and proactive maintenance based on asset performance and failure history, as well as analysis of current and productizing analysis of equipment’s current performance 40% - Lead the development, planning, and execution of annual printer rebuild strategy for all of the LOL butter network.
Strategy will be based on equipment assessments, equipment operating interval, and analyzing current and past equipment performance.
20% - Develop, refine, and deliver both operator and maintenance training on proper machine operation, adjustments, and technical maintenance procedures.
Continually assess, improve, and enhance maintenance SOPs based on most recent asset reliability history and performance.
10% - Lead research and procurement of cost effective spart parts alternatives that maintain or improve OEM component reliability and longevity factors.
Proactively manage BSO part inventory levels based on utilization, rebuild strategy, and inventory cost levels.
Manage maintain equipment and inventory part structures updated.
Required Experience/Education Associate Degree in Engineering and minimum 2 years of experience in power transmission or mechanical maintenance / reliability engineering in a food industrial manufacturing environment OR Non-degreed with minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance of power transmission in a food industrial manufacturing environment.
Ideally, 5+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and maintaining highspeed food filling and packaging equipment preferably Benhil butter packaging equipment Printers, specifically – butter feed system, paper section, dosing and cube forming, cube forming to cartoner transition, cartoner, check weigher.
Safety minded and experienced with LOTO of all power sources.
High degree of aptitude and knowledge of mechanical components specifically rotating timing, gears, and cam systems Leadership experience in maintenance related roll, with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work with others in a lead or support capacity.
Electrical controls knowledge, including reading wiring and electrical controls schematics.
Experience with reading PCL and troubleshooting ladder logic.
Programming AB control logic PLCs is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications Experience using computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.
).
Knowledge of Preventive and Predictive maintenance of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
Understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
Conduct field analysis of operations, investigations, evaluation, and reviews and provide feedback to appropriate functional groups including executive staff.
Experience with new innovative ways of working regarding Maintenance of Benhil Butter Printers equipment and working in the food production industry is considered a plus.
