The Manager Quality Assurance is responsible for providing direction, oversight, support and coordination of quality assurance and technical activities at the Hanford, CA Plant.
This position executes responsibilities to ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, food safety modernization act (FSMA) compliance, and regulatory standards.
The role participates in determining personnel/staffing needs and ensures that all areas have the proper materials and training needed to function at Annual Operating Plan.
This position serves as an integral role member of the Plant Management Team in plant operations by providing input and having a strong voice in decision making regarding production plans, product disposition, procedures and personnel.
Manages the performance of personnel to ensure that all job functions are achieved and that all administrative actions are resolved in a timely manner by working with Human Resources as applicable.
Food Safety and Quality responsibilities include; HACCP Team Leader, Food Safety Coordinator, Quality Systems Coordinator, Sanitation Program oversight, Finished Product grading, Quality Records auditing, process control and specification verification, annual Quality Review preparation, conducting Internal Audits, accompanying Regulatory Auditors on site, Food Defense Team member, assisting in root cause investigation with process or product issues, Product hold administrator, Consumer Complaint tracking, BRC Systems implementation, accompany 2nd and 3rd party auditors, Traceability and Recall Coordinator, Pest Control Coordinator, Private label and co-pack QA, coordinate corrective and preventative action program, track equipment calibration, FS and Quality Training Coordinator, Supplier approval and performance.
The salary range for this role is: $81,733 - $138,935.
Responsibilities: Food Safety and Quality Coordinate and ensure implementation of Corporate Quality and Tech Services policies by performing/reviewing internal audits and maintenance of plant quality systems.
Ensure product safety through development, review and enforcement of company policies through process control review and management of product holds.
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations along with corporate and customer standards.
Review and enforce company quality standards provided by facility, regional and corporate quality authorities.
Ensure all elements of the annual plant quality plan are met by working with plant management to review progress and results periodically and implement corrective actions when objectives are not achieved.
Management/Supervision Coordinate the supervision and training of hourly production workers, as well as the oversight, direction, and training of personnel to achieve Del Monte's Quality Standards, as well as other goals set by the management team.
Manages the performance of personnel to ensure that all job functions are achieved and that all administrative actions are resolved in a timely manner by working with Human Resources as applicable.
Safety Ensure compliance with all approved and applicable safety rules in the employee's area of responsibility.
Del Monte Production Systems (Lean) Support, facilitate, and assist in the implementation of the facility's Lean initiatives.
Continuing Education In order to maintain and improve supervisory skills, food safety knowledge, and Lean knowledge, a strong effort must be made to continue education through Continuing Education Units, special training, and Del Monte's Total Learning Center.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; Food Technology or related discipline in food processing preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance Experience in food processing, sanitation, quality assurance, and production statistics required.
Experience in general manufacturing practices for food processing required.
Experience in/knowledge of sanitation concepts, environmental controls, project management concepts, and accounting (i.
e.
budgeting, cost control) are a plus.
Experience with employee relations; strong interpersonal skills.
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office products).
SAP experience or similar preferred.
Preventive controls qualified individual (PCQI).
GFSI and BRC Standards.

Must be able to wear protective clothing –hard hat, glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, hair/beard nets frequently.
