About the position:

This position performs a variety of metalworking operations on steel, and aluminum to produce a variety of parts and assembled equipment, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings.
The responsibilities of the Welder position includes: fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Fabricate, weld, and assemble equipment and/or machinery as needed
* Cut material using a band saw, plasma cutter, and angle grinder
* Accurately measure and align using a tape measure, square, level, protractor, and dial calipers
* Layout, drill, and tap metals and plastics
* Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
* Operate all equipment and tooling in a safe manner according to company policy
* Operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the needs of the job
Ideal Candidate*

* Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures.
* Have knowledge of steel construction (preferably)
* Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler rods, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders
* Know fractions and decimal/fraction conversions.
* Metal building terminology, typical building layouts, and fabrication practices*

Qualifications:
* Ability to read blueprints and drawings with proficiency
* Prior experience welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment
* Must know fractions and decimals, including fraction conversions.
* Positive worker and willing to go the extra length to get the job done
* Must work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within our quality standards to ensure timely completion.
