JOB DESCRIPTION Classification: ERF-2-R Program Coordinator Date Established: 2018 Department: Adult Workforce Reports to: Assistant Director SCOPE OF WORK: The purpose of this position is to connect Tulare County Businesses with the resources, information, and assistance they require to maintain and grow their business.
The incumbent of this position is responsible to establish and maintain activities to develop, locate, and secure opportunities for CSET customers, market programs and services to businesses, and coordinate job resources.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assist in planning and coordinating internal and external events such as Blue Ribbon Mentors, custom recruitments, mixers, and job fairs (with a focus on Industry Sector job fairs); take photographs and distribute accordingly.
Present at service clubs and other venues to promote programs for businesses, including but not limited to SHRM, TEA, and Chambers of Commerce.
Maintains ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and job placement/training agencies to promote programs for participant placement; makes cold calls to potential employers; explains the benefits and business support services provided by programs to businesses, including addressing business special needs; makes referrals out as needed.
Remains updated on program requirements and regulations affecting participants and business.
Participates in training and professional development to build the required knowledge for the position.
Performs other duties including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
Researches Internet, newspapers, agencies, and other resources for job leads; locate jobs for customers.
Responsible for taking a lead role in filling direct placement job orders from employers in a timely manner.
Helping to grow the number of active job-ready candidates to fill the needs of local employers with the right talent/fit.
Activities should include but not be limited to job readiness workshops, coaching individuals toward job readiness, creating a databank of employers, etc.
Remains updated on program requirements and regulations affecting participants and employers.
Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and job placement/training agencies to promote programs for participant placement.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to Uphold company principles and practices to the highest degree and represent the agency in a professional manner.
Possess marketing skills necessary for employer engagement.
Provide exceptional customer service for individuals from various backgrounds that include efficient, precise, and courteous communication in a dignified environment.
Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Maintains a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Complies with professional ethical standards.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employers, co-workers, members of other agencies, and the general public.
Ability to deal with customers and employers in a calm, professional, friendly, and patient manner.
Knowledgeable of modern office procedures and methods, proficient in the use of computers, Windows operating system including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Access), and program databases.
Possess communication skills, research abilities, flexibility, and an ability to work well with others.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Knowledge of the local labor market and employer expectations.
Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Possess in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the various company programs and the ability to communicate policy information in a clear and detailed manner.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
Ability to exceed performance goals.
