Position Type: Full-Time About Us: Habitat for Humanity of Tulare/Kings Counties is a dynamic and community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to building affordable homes and empowering families in the Central Valley.
As we continue to expand our impact, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and contribute to the growth of our mission.
Responsibilities: As the Development Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the organization's programs and initiatives in Tulare and Kings Counties.
Key responsibilities include: 1.
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to secure financial support from individual donors, corporations, foundations, and government entities.
2.
Donor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring effective cultivation and stewardship of supporters.
3.
Newsletter, Blog, and Letter Writing: Write persuasive and informative copy for social media, website, emails and direct mail as well as supporting grant writing as needed.
4.
Events Management: Plan and execute fundraising events, donor appreciation functions, and community engagement activities to increase awareness and support for our mission.
5.
Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team, board of directors, and program staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
6.
Local Partnerships: Foster partnerships with local businesses, community leaders, and organizations to enhance fundraising opportunities and community impact.
7.
Grants Management: Research, identify, and calendar potential grant opportunities and reporting to ensure deadlines are met.
Develop an understanding of the types of grants and funding appropriate for the affiliate.
Develop and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Manage the grant process from start to finish, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
Maintain records of all grants awarded and ensure that all requirements are met.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's or associate degree in a relevant field (such as Nonprofit Management, Business, or Communications).
- Proven experience in fundraising, with a focus on individual giving, corporate partnerships, and events.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Tulare and Kings Counties and an understanding of affordable housing challenges in the region.
