Position Information DEFINITION Under the supervision of the Community Services Director or designee, the River Cashier collects entry fees, provides excellent customer service to the public, keeps a tally of the number of entrants, and reconciles the fees for vehicles and citizens entering Reedley Beach and Cricket Hollow.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED Exercises no supervision.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES (may include but are not limited to the following) Interacts with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Monitors vehicles and citizens that enter the park during times of operation.
Collects fees for river entry, which may include cash and payment cards, and monitors this activity throughout the collection period.
Maintains outdoor areas and ensures safety of participants and staff.
Keeps assigned area clean and free of any and all safety hazards at all times.
Attends staff meetings.
Sets up barricades, signs, and any other equipment as necessary to effectively perform the duties of the position.
Communicates effectively, with customers, staff, and other City officials.
Submits all funds collected throughout the shift to the Community Services Department.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Policies and procedures of the river entry process.
All fees associated with different types of vehicles entering the park.

A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be: Experience: Must be 18 or older.
Customer service work experience is desirable.
Spanish speaking skills are preferred but are not required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Credential.
Training: Attend department orientation and provided trainings.
License or Certificate: Must possess a valid California driver's license.
Special Requirements: Essential duties require the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be lifting and carrying equipment, and may spend time sitting or standing for long periods of time.
The temperatures are warm to hot conditions a majority of the time.
The employee will be expected to clean and maintain the equipment and area, and may move throughout the area of the park.
The employee may come in contact with patrons who are ill and/or contagious, and must take precautions to ensure the health and safety of all customers, staff, and themselves.
The employee will be working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment.
Some days may be busier than others.
With the number of hours required to work, the employee may need to eat, or take a break during official work hours.
There may be a number of activities and situations happening at the same time.
The employee must be prepared to handle accidents and the Reedley Police Department to ask for help in a situation they may deem too difficult or stressful.
