Description: The role of the Merchandising Assistant is primarily to perform the general processing functions related to our ethanol and wet feed product groups.
This will include contract entry, contract maintenance, invoicing, inventory management, payment processing, and daily communication with stakeholders.
Secondary responsibilities will include customer payment handling, document management, freight bill processing, disbursements, and other duties as assigned in order to support the California Business Group accounting department.
The successful Merchandising Assistant will have a variety of office skills including organization, attention to detail, diligent work ethic, time management, and teamwork.
Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs as well as the ability to learn other accounting/business programs, is an essential skill.
The Merchandising Assistant must be able to balance multiple workflows and be able to communicate with other departments within the California Business Group, as well as counterparties at our business partners.
A successful Merchandising Assistant will meet all daily, weekly, and monthly processing deadlines, and assist with office management responsibilities and controller functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To include the following.

· Ensures data is entered accurately and processed in a timely manner.
· Invoice creation, ensuring the proper invoice terms, dates, and products.
· Distributes information to applicable managers and/or controller in a timely manner.
· Invoice auditing and review, including invoices created by other team members.
· Maintain an organized and efficient workspace to manage paperwork.
· Support other members of the accounting department, including filing, scanning, and mailing.
· Reception and front desk coverage, occasional as needed.

Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred; or multiple years related professional experience in a high volume environment.
Language/Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, statements, corporate safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal management and external contacts.
Business Skills: Ability to multi-task and function within a fast paced business environment, with effective time-management to meet all established deadlines.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Willing to troubleshoot or address problems independently, but ensures proper adherence to company policies and practices.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to access the Internet as needed.
Organization and Detail Skills: Must be able to effectively organize a high volume of documentation from multiple sources, distribute and communicate with internal parties following proper company policies and procedures.
