STRTP Mental Health Program Job Description *Job Description *– *Licensed Mental Health* *Professional Reports to: Head of Service* *Duties and Responsibilities:* Inspiring Pathways, Inc.
LMPH will assist the mental health team with following services: • Clinically assist with delivery of care.
• Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
• Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
• Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Complete a comprehensive mental health assessment of clients in the STRTP within five calendar days of admission.
• Facilitate the initial mental health treatment plan for each client within ten calendar days of admission • Review with the client, her course of treatment and prepare updated treatment plans when clinically appropriate and no less than every ninety days.
• Review the client’s progress in treatment every thirty days • Complete all necessary reports and/or documentation required for the preparation of client reports and progress reports • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients' status.
• Participate in clinical reviews with other mental health staff including the Head of Service to review STRTP clients’ course of treatment and transition plans every ninety days.
• Meet with families, probation officers, police, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
• Monitor clients' use of medications.
Schedule medication reviews for clients with mental health conditions who may or may not be taking psychotropic medication.
• Provide information to physician/psychiatrist about client’s medication patterns, and side effects observed/reported.
• Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems.
• Counsel clients, individually and in group sessions, designed to provide reduction of mental disability and restoration, improvement or maintenance of functioning.
• Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
• Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with treatment plan.
• Prepare with each client necessary plans for transition to lower level of care, permanency or other treatment setting.
• Complete necessary activities to ensure viable plan for aftercare with STRTP follow-up directives • Responsible for the implementation of individual, family and group therapy • Assist head of service to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements, including timely and accurate documentation of services provided • Assist with family therapy with assigned clients and their families • Assist with crisis coordination and the corresponding clinical support, to include the availability for a 24/7 emergency response • Provides conflict de-escalation and mediation involving youth, as needed.
• Attend client meetings • Must apply the reasonable and prudent parent standard as appropriate • May also provide Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) as the agency’s appointed Intensive Care Coordinator.
*ICC Coordinator Duties/Qualifications:* • Have knowledge of the practice guidelines of the California Child Welfare Core Practice Model (CPM).
• Facilitate the provision of services including access, planning, delivery, and transition, in accordance with medical necessity criteria and treatment inputs.
• Ensure participation by the child or youth, family or caregiver and significant others, along with any other STRTP staff in the assessment and treatment planning process.
• Participate in the CFT meetings to assist the efforts of collaboration with child welfare systems across agencies.
• Integrate other identified support person(s) in the child’s life and appropriate staff into the existing CFT.
• Monitoring the youth’s progress in meeting TX plan goals related to ICC.
• Maintaining documentation (progress notes) related to interventions used by the ICC coordinator and other mental health clinicians in meeting the youth’s treatment plan goals.

5 or twenty (20) hours per week.
Must meet the minimum requirements of one of the professional disciplines in Sections 623 through 630 of Title 9 of the California Code of Regulations as verified by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or other recognized licensing agency.
Must possess the minimum required degree pursuant with the qualifying professional discipline in the applicable field of study and have some clinical experience preferably working with youth with severe mental illness and/or behavioral problems.
*For LMHP:* Must meet the minimum requirements of one of the professional disciplines of Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
Must possess a graduate degree or higher in Counselor Education and a valid license to practice as a Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC as issued by American Psychology Association (APA) or California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
*For Waivered/Registered Mental Health Professional: *Must be registered by the American Psychology Association (APA) or California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) to practice as a Registered Psychologist, Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
