I am a care giver available for hire in the Exeter area, I provide support and assistance to people of any age who are unable to fully care for themselves due to disability, illness, age, or other circumstances.
I have 11 years of experience in the care giving field and have extensive experience working with seniors and people with developmental disabilities.
I’ve also worked with children in a professional and volunteer basis.
Brief experience history- I’ve worked for multiple families and individuals through out the years caring for them and their loved ones in the comfort of their own homes.
Each experience has truly been special and has given me the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people, some of which I continue personal relationships with.
I spent working 6 years in a group home for adults with developmental disabilities (a ICF-DDH).
The latter 4 of those years I was promoted to managing the facility, I cared for 6 clients who lived there full time and managed a team of 8 employees along with a host of responsibilities regarding both client and staff operations.
I also enjoy working with children, I worked for an elementary school for 2 years supervising and assisting children during the lunch and after school hours.
I was also a CASA volunteer; I was assigned 2 case children who had been placed in the foster care system.
My responsibilities were to advocate for these children within the court and out in the world.
CASA’s spend time with the child in all environments such as their current placement, school, parental visits, etc.
and are able to take the child on one-on-one outings to do fun activities.
We are tasked with reaching out to the child’s social worker, foster parents, teachers, counselors, therapists, and collaborating on what is in the best interest for the child.
There is a court hearing every 6 months and we write a very detailed report of the previous 6 months and make recommendations to the judge.
My case length was 2 ½ years.
