If you enjoy driving and have any experience towing anything, this will take you to the next level.
OnTrac hostlers are responsible for safely positioning and maneuvering trailers to and from the dock.
Experience driving a yard goat, moving trailers into and out of parking spaces, and backing into dock doors preferred.
*Please note that this is a temporary "in-training" role.
Upon successful completion of our week-long hostler course, the position will become a permanent hostler role.

What you will do as our next Hostler:
• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
• Properly pre-trip and inspect each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards
• Correctly position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor
• Switching trailers as needed during the daily sort
• Hook up sets of trailers for line hauls leaving the facility
• Clearly communicate all trailer moves and trailer numbers with ops management
• Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization, including the daily sort
What you will need to be successful:
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work at a consistent rate performing highly physical work.
• Ability to work and make yard moves with the big picture in mind (yard awareness)
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both.
Minimum one-year driving experience.
• A clean driving record is required.
• Candidates must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background check.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess valid identification, and be able to pass a TSA screening.
