ACHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center and licensed primary care clinic.
We provide Family Medicine and Dental Care, with additional specialists in Behavioral Health, Chiropractic, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Podiatry and Optometry.
ACHC Clinics are located across Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties.
RESPONSIBILITES Responsible for the safe & successful transportation of patients.
Provides transportation of patients of all ages as scheduled to satisfy medical appointments.
This is a job, operating a passenger van on a demand response system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Operate gasoline or diesel powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport passengers between destinations in a safe manner consistent with all ACHC rules and regulations Check before every trip, the condition of a vehicle's operational and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in safe working condition.
Fill out daily van inspection form.
Report any van malfunctions or needed repairs to the scheduler.
Prepare and submit reports that include the number of passengers or trips, trip purpose, mileage, etc.
Notify scheduler if rider doesn't show.
Turn in trip sheets, fuel receipts and payments daily and pre-trip inspection sheets in weekly.
Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
Comply with all traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to the proper personnel or scheduler.
Pick up and drop off passengers at scheduled locations, following time schedules.
Provide directions and information about van schedules, facilities and operations to the passengers as needed.
Have knowledge that the van is on a first come first service system.
Serve as liaison between passengers and scheduler.
Establish good rapport with passengers.
Provide assistance to passengers, including but not limited to assistance with boarding and deboarding, transfers from seat to seat, etc.
Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
Clean the van after each trip.
Maneuver wheelchairs on and off ramp, up curbs and over thresholds.
Assist with small packages as needed.
Secure all packages.
Maintain confidentially of sensitive or personal information.
Operate telephone, cell phone for communication with scheduler.
Maintain order among passengers during trips, in order to ensure safety.
Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain certification and knowledge of first-aid procedures and CPR.
EXPERIENCE 1-3 years experience in operating passenger van, preferably in healthcare environment, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience SKILLS Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, establish priorities and adapt to change Ability to work with patients of all ages A self-motivated, creative, and positive personality Ability to work with staff, family members, and community Possess patience, good organizational skills, assertiveness, and be a conscientious person.
Present a professional appearance.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must possess a valid CA driver license and clear driving record.
Must possess current CPR certification.
Be available for training PYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Balance as required to maintain physical equilibrium to prevent falling of self, others, or of objects being carried.
Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
Able to walk and use stairs.

Will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions.
