POSITION SUMMARY: The Ice Cream Maker Level I position is responsible for operating, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of wrappers, cartoners, case packers, coders, barcode scanners, conveyors/elevators, pumps, fruit feeders, shrink wrapper, case sealers, and monitoring of video cameras.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate and clean assigned equipment.
• Safely and properly clear machine jams.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunction.
Troubleshoot and make operator adjustments on assigned equipment during production.
Take corrective action as necessary.
• Complete pre-start checklist.
• Set up, monitor, and maintain the ink coders: verify codes; proper coding; adjust as necessary; and change code as necessary for product changeovers.
• Load, monitor and maintain stock: bar wrap, cartons, spoons, corrugate, shrink wrap; check for proper country and flavor.
• Monitor and maintain supply of hot melt glue: turn on/off; maintain glue level; troubleshoot and adjust as necessary.
• Complete QMS quality checks: Ensure cartons/cases are square and sealed properly, check glue pattern.
Ensure bars are wrapped properly and check seal.
• Document rerun chocolate usage.
• Complete appropriate documentation: code verification and downtime sheets • Perform product changeovers: both SKU product changeovers during production and changes in product configuration.
Contact Palletizer operator with changeover information.
• Complete OPMs and inspect equipment for unusual or excessive wear.
• Conduct sanitation according to sanitation procedures including sanitation critical control records.
• Participate in troubleshooting of micro and environmental issues.
• Provide assistance to Ice Cream Maker Level III operator.
• Responsible for training new Ice Cream Maker Level I.
• Other duties as assigned.
