*Organization Description: *Community Water Center Action Fund (CWC Action Fund) is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization formed to ensure that all communities have access to safe, clean, and affordable drinking water through organizing, advocacy, and political engagement.
CWCAF is a sister organization to the Community Water Center (CWC).
Certain activities listed below are carried out through an agreement authorizing the sharing of staff time between CWC and CWCAF.
*Position Description:* CWC Action Fund Canvassers is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt, hourly employee position primarily responsible for engaging with Tulare County Latinx voters on drinking water issues and mobilize them to vote for progressive candidates who will prioritize drinking water solutions in office.
This position will be primarily responsible for contacting voters through daily phone banking.
The position is part-time (approximately 25 hours per week) and will report to the Deputy Field Director.
We are hiring 15 canvassers for a six-week campaign from January 25 to March 5, 2024 with shifts Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 3 - 8pm and Saturday/Sunday 10 am - 3pm.
*Major Responsibilities* * Implement phone banking efforts to encourage voter engagement.
* Participate in orientation, role-plays, daily script training, and support with troubleshooting.
* Engage voters in a professional manner.
* Review daily assignments and meet daily target goals.
* Provide detailed daily reports, fill out a contact spreadsheet, and any sign-up sheet for manual data entry.
*Required Qualifications* * Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse * communities and stakeholders.
* Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
* Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
* Ability to travel to/from Visalia, CA office.
*Preferred Qualifications* * Knowledge of groundwater issues, environmental justice, or grassroots power building * Fluency in languages spoken within the target communities such as Tagalog, Punjabi, Hmong, Portuguese, Mixteco, Triqui, and Zapoteco are highly desirable.
* Passion for social and environmental justice, community empowerment, and equitable * decision-making processes.
* California driver's license, valid insurance, safe driving record, and regular access to a 4-5 seat passenger car.
* 18 years of age or older *Vaccination Policy:* To ensure the health and safety of staff, community partners, and other stakeholders we interact with, CWC and CWCAF require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment unless a medical or religious accommodation is approved before the first day of employment.
As such, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen.
