JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant is an entry-level accounting professional who is responsible for performing general bookkeeping, maintaining financial reports, preparing and analyzing account reconciliations, and preparing journal entries.
A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and demonstrated knowledge of technical and operational accounting and finance functions are a must.
This role will contribute to the external audit process and may be responsible for additional accounting responsibilities as deemed necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
Prepare various monthly journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
Perform monthly Oracle inventory close processes.
Prepare, analyze and post monthly allocations.
Maintains financial reports, records and general ledger accounts.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Provide detailed analyses and explanations of transactions.
Analyze current account procedures to recommend improvements, then help develop and implement the improvements.
Analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
Ensure processing and reporting deadlines are met.
Prepare and file certain tax forms.
Assist the accounting team as needed.
Assist with Year End close procedures.
Prepare and maintain documentation for external auditors.
Additional Ad-hoc accounting activities as assigned
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
Knowledge of accounting principles.
OTHER SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word.
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with various levels of personnel within the organization including management.
Ability to protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines by working efficiently within time constraints; including, but not limited to readily identifying and communicating possible delays.
Dependable, desire and ability to learn, observant, and organized.
