If so, then you've come to the right place! General Summary This position is responsible for management of the laboratory, lab testing, and supervising lab and field technicians.
This position oversees all quality control procedures and is responsible for maintaining all laboratory accreditation programs (AMRL, ASTM, and State).
This position performs some sampling, testing, and inspection of construction materials in either a laboratory or field setting.
Essential Job Accountabilities Supervise technical staff job performance to ensure optimum use of resources with emphasis on work schedules.
Exercise discretion in evaluating job performance and determining appropriate corrective action.
Analyze workflow, establish priorities, and delegate tasks to technical staff in order to meet deadlines.
Conduct interviews and performance evaluations.
Provide management with recommendations for technician annual compensation increases.
Train technicians on sampling, testing, and inspection of construction materials to prepare them for additional certification.
Review and analyze sampling, testing, inspection and design results to both ensure quality standards are met including QC/QA projects and as a basis for overseeing technician job performance.
Oversee production personnel to ensure material process corrections are implemented.
Exercise discretion in evaluating and responding to customer service issues in order to ensure customer satisfaction levels are maintained.
Responsible for all facets of national accreditations (AMRL, ASTM), including meeting accreditation deadlines, identifying and exercising discretion in correcting lab deficiencies, maintaining laboratory standards, completing accreditation materials and coordinating facility and equipment maintenance.
Participate in and promote Granite's safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations.
Perform sampling, testing, and inspection of construction materials on an "as needed" basis.
Support administrative functions including taring/ticketing trucks, completing/filing plant paperwork, and assisting plant operators with miscellaneous tasks as needed Maintain customer schedules on Plant Demand, working with regional sales team and local plant operators to ensure schedules are communicated accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist environmental and safety departments as needed, to include inspections, documentation, and sampling.
Track production by obtaining daily production totals from and entering into central spreadsheet.
Education/Certification High school diploma required Regional or State Agency certification for material being sampled, tested, inspected required NICET III certification desired Work Experience 5+ years of related experience Knowledge, skills, and abilities Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to supervise technical staff Strong organizational skills Good oral and written communication skills Physical Demand The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard.

Base Salary Range: $59,320.
00 - $93,662.
00 Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
