Nurse Instructor General Statement of Duties: The Nurse Instructor has the responsibility for the assessment, development, implementation, and instruction of the New Employee Orientation Program as well as various in-service training programs offered to all of he employees at Porterville Developmental Center (PDC).
Emphasis for level-of-care (LOC) staff shall take priority.
He/She has the responsibility for developing, reviewing, revising and delivering curriculum for nursing classes, competency training, home studies, and continuing education classes for all LOC staff (RN, LVN, PTs, CNA/PTA).
The Nurse Instructor will assure that curriculum is developed in such a way that the goals of building capabilities and independence as well as providing a normalized living environment for the client are communicated.
Each instructor may provide training for community-based facilities/organizations as a consultant from PDC, depending on time available.
Other duties may include; Nursing Education Director/Instructor responsible for Certified Nurse Assistant/Psychiatric Technician Assistant New Employee Orientation Program, In-Service Training and continuing education unit curriculum training designed for C.
N.
A.
/PTA; service on facility committees as needs are identified; and Security Awareness Training.
Inputting and updating classes on ABSORB LMS as needed.
Will also consider the Psychiatric Technician (PT) Instructor classification.
PT Instructor General Statement of Duties: The PT Instructor has the responsibility for the assessment, development, implementation, and instruction of various in-service training programs offered to all of the employees at PDC.
He/She has the responsibility to assure that the course curriculum is developed in such a way that the goals of building capabilities and independence as well as providing a normalized living environment for the client are communicated.
Particular attention is directed at ensuring the rights, dignities, and needs of the client.
In addition, he/she may provide training to community-based facilities as a consultant from PDC with particular reference to the behaviorally compromised client.
