Caregiver, Special Needs

Responsibilities: - Provide direct support and care to an 29 year old man with Down's Syndrome and severe autism who is mobile.
He is 5'4" weighs 135 lbs - Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation - Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document any changes or reactions - Monitor vital signs and report any concerns or changes in health status - Assist with the safety and well-being of the individual - Maintain a clean and organized living environment for the individual - Provide emotional support and companionship to promote a positive and nurturing environment including walking with him.
Experience: - Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred - Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response systems - Understanding of assisted living principles for individuals - Experience with medication administration and adherence to protocols Skills: - Compassionate and patient demeanor - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals and their families - Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, appointments, and documentation - Ability to work independently while following established care plans and protocols - Attention to detail to ensure accurate medication administration and health monitoring Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
