The Human Resources Intern will directly assist the HR Business Partner with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, employee benefits, and other employee engagement programs.
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical.
In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills they have acquired in school related to their particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting.
They will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources, and be better prepared to work in the arena of human resources.
*Job Responsibilities:*
* Coordinating new hire orientations.
* Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.
* Maintain personnel, medical, and confidential files for active and terminated employees.
* Maintain new hire and termination packets.
* Assisting in the planning of company events.
Qualifications:
* Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources, or non-profit management/administrative fields
* Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications
* Effective communication skills
* Detail-oriented
