Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team.
As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, ensuring accurate cost allocation, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance, as well as experience in corporate accounting and financial report interpretation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost management
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Conduct variance analysis to identify areas of improvement or concern
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and provide financial insights
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations
- Perform technical accounting research as needed
- Support payroll processes related to cost allocation
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage or similar platforms
- Ability to interpret complex financial reports and provide meaningful analysis
- Experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with cost management techniques and strategies
- Ability to perform cash flow analysis and forecasting
